Artist Statement
Life is fleeting. Too often we focus on the "to-do" list and not the "to experience" list. For me, I am most present around the ocean. The rush that happens as nature collides, waves meeting the shore, wind across the waves... and the wake of that rush as well. The breathing of the sea keeps me focused. Keeping that experience alive though my art is my calling.
"Painting for me is a joyful activity. A connection that I hope I share with viewers. Lively brushstrokes as a colorful expression of that joy."
At home in Honolulu, Hawaii surrounded by the the Pacific Ocean, and typically on or near the water, Carolyn now divides her time between boating and painting.
